Some of you who read my MySpace blog might recall several posts I had extolling the virtues of my Dell Axim x51v PDA. It was a good PDA… a great one in fact, but I realized a few months ago that I just wasn’t using it as much as I should. For the most part, it was a toy rather than a tool. I wondered if I could sell it, so I went to check out eBay. Much to my shock, what was a $450 gadget 2 years ago was a $200 gadget today. That is amazing value retention for electronics. I think it is probably because the x51v was the last “true” PDA before people started making smartphones. Some folks hate smartphones, so there’s a market out there for good PDAs.
So, I posted a craiglist ad. After several contacts that turned into nothing, I finally sold it to a dude today for $200. I was happy to sell it, but sort of sad to see it go. Thanks for the memories, x51v! Thanks for the $200, craigslist dude!
